Project Testimonials

King Khalid University Project

I had the honour of having the role of Senior Projects Manager for construction supervision of the majority of the new campus for King Khalid University, Al Faraa, Saudi Arabia, spending 8 magnificent years leading a team of up to 150 staff overseeing the development of the site from bare mountains to a modern university campus, one of the largest campus universities in the world, some £1.2bn value of construction works.

Frankley Water Treatment Works 3rd Stream

£150m+ project, Doosan nmcn joint venture, key part of Severn Trent Water's Birmingham Resilience Programme to provide alternative raw water supply to reduce reliance on the Victorian Elan Valley Aquaduct which has been supplying the city for 120 years. I was Project Manager of a significant section of the works, seeing the project through the design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases, supporting Severn Trent to achieve their regulatory ODI obligation. Veolia Actiflow technology was used by Severn Trent for the first time - there were significant teething troubles however the project team strove to find and implement a solution which meant that the plant could treat a massive range of water qualities, from dirty river water to crystal clear Elan Valley water, from 20MLD up to 304MLD. Very high pressure environment, very rewarding experience.

Hampton Loade Water Treatment Works

Project Management services for the first phase of South Staffs Water’s largest project, to upgrade their largest water treatment plant, capacity 220Ml/d. EPC project, responsible for taking the project from FEED stage through detailed MEICA and civils design and procurement ready for the construction stage, value circa £2m.
